Here at PoGo Charge, one of the fastest growing ultra-rapid EV Charge Point Operators (CPOs), we’ve once again teamed up with Formula Space, a leading EV infrastructure design and build specialist, on the launch of our largest ultra-rapid charging hub to date in the Southwest of England.
Situated off the M5 at Junction 24, Bridgwater, the site features 10 ultra-rapid charging points each capable of up to 200kW of power for EV drivers. The equipment comprises our 32-inch Touch technology that simplifies the charging process with clear instructions and a range of easy payment options.
Since the PoGo Charge brand was launched in 2023, we’ve worked closely with Formula Space on more than 100 sites, with our ChargeSafe accredited in-house design team having developed a design standard for new sites, for which Formula Space advises further on the accessibility and safety. The Formula Space single-source solution has seamlessly blended with our fully-funded solution, allowing us to focus on deploying high quality charging sites at speed. Our ongoing relationship allows for continuous improvement, innovation, and adaptation of EV site design in response to industry developments and user needs. We’re both aligned in our vision for the future of EV charging, with our partnership extending beyond design to a shared commitment of enhancing user experience and minimum accessibility as standard.
Together, the newly opened hub was built with ample space and easy access to the charging points, with thoughtful steps taken to ensure that the site design is led by the PAS 1899:2022 standard and ChargeSafe rating. The site is well-lit with clear wayfinding signage, safety bollards, bold bay marking, charger branding and a totem designed by Formula Space to guide drivers quickly and safely to a charging bay.
Stuart Douglas, Managing Director at PoGo, says that the partnership emphasises our continued commitment to delivering the best user experience: “The new site perfectly exemplifies the continued diligence from both our design team and our long-standing partnership with Formula Space to create the best digital and practical experience. Together, we’re delivering cutting-edge charging solutions that prioritise safety, efficiency, and convenience for every driver.”
Vern Pollard, Director at Formula Space, emphasises the importance of translating the PoGo brand to its charging sites: “Bringing the PoGo brand to life at charging sites is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about ensuring that every driver can safely and easily access charging infrastructure. By focusing on accessibility and safety as key measures, we’ve worked with the PoGo team to create a site that not only looks great but also provides a seamless experience for all EV drivers. This partnership highlights the importance of combining visual communication with functionality to deliver a truly user-centric space.”
