PoGo Charge Goes Live on Zapmap’s Zap-Pay Platform

We are thrilled to announce drivers can now access PoGo Charge through Zap-Pay, the simple way to pay for EV charging across networks from Zapmap

With our extensive and growing network of ultra-rapid chargers across the UK, PoGo Charge is proud to join Zapmap as a payment partner. This collaboration means EV drivers can now easily pay for their charging sessions on our network through Zap-Pay, making the charging experience more convenient and streamlined.

Enhancing the Charging Experience

Our charging network, consisting predominantly of rapid and ultra-rapid devices, is strategically located at car parks, retail hubs, and leisure destinations. This partnership with Zapmap allows us to make paying for charging much simpler for EV drivers nationwide, aligning with our mission to encourage and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.

Established in 2023, PoGo Charge is dedicated to providing multiple charging options powered by renewable energy. We currently operate around 150 charging devices across almost 100 locations, from Inverness to Penzance. Our recent expansions include the launch of the first of 32 new ultra-rapid charging hubs for Kew Green Hotels, and new installations in Derby and Birmingham.

Stuart Douglas, Managing Director at PoGo Charge, stated: “It goes without saying that Zapmap is an important partner for us, enabling drivers to find our chargers as well as plan their routes around PoGo Charge sites, wherever they might be located.

“Integrating with Zap-Pay is a significant step for PoGo Charge and for electric vehicle drivers across the country. I’m thrilled to see this integration go live and delighted to add our network to Zapmap’s cross-network payment solution.”

Convenient and Seamless Payments

Through Zap-Pay, drivers can search for our charge points, plan longer journeys, and share updates with other EV drivers. They can also pay quickly and easily for their charging sessions, directly within the familiar Zapmap app. This integration means drivers can avoid the hassle of multiple payment methods and enjoy a seamless charging experience across networks.

Zap-Pay uses a credit or debit card for transactions and supports both Apple Pay and Google Pay, making it an accessible and user-friendly solution for EV drivers. Users can also view their charging history, receive live status updates, and download receipts to keep track of their spending.

Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap, said: “I’m delighted that PoGo Charge is now live on our cross-network payment solution Zap-Pay, and I’m sure many electric vehicle drivers up and down the country will be too.

“PoGo Charge is an important addition to our payment network, not least because its ultra-rapid charge points are conveniently situated at car parks and other retail and leisure destinations.

“This new payment partnership makes charging even easier for EV drivers at a whole range of useful locations across the UK.”

Feedback from the Community

The convenience of Zap-Pay has already been highlighted by users. Andrew Green, a Zapmap user, shared his positive experience: “I think Zap-Pay is good when you’re going somewhere new. There you have no idea how those chargers work, so Zap-Pay is really useful when using an unfamiliar network. The fact that I could do it through Zap-Pay made it much easier.”

Looking Forward

With PoGo Charge’s ultra-rapid charging network now live on Zap-Pay, this integration represents a significant step forward in providing convenient and reliable charging for EV drivers across the country. We are excited to continue expanding our network and improving the EV charging experience.
